Christopher Holdsworth Hunt

Chairman

Christopher Holdsworth Hunt was co-founder and previous managing director of KBC Peel Hunt Ltd (“Peel Hunt”), a stockbroker specialising in corporate broking to small and medium sized companies. He was head of corporate finance and responsible for overseeing numerous flotations and secondary fundraisings, especially of AIM companies.

Prior to founding Peel Hunt in 1989 he was a director of Morgan Grenfell Securities, having previously been a managing partner of Pinchin Denny & Co. He is a former member and deputy chairman of the Stock Exchange Domestic Equities Rules Committee. Christopher is a past Master of the Grocers' Company and is a recent Chairman of their Wine Committee. Christopher is a Director of a number of private companies.

William Sporborg

Managing Director & Trader

William Sporborg, a qualified Chartered Accountant, has spent the last twenty years investing in and managing unquoted companies. From 1992 to 1997, William worked at Hambro European Ventures investing in management buyouts and buyins with an enterprise value of between £10 million and £100 million. In 1997 William joined The NW Brown Group in Cambridge, one of the Eastern region’s leading independent financial services companies. William was one of the founders of The Cambridge Gateway Fund, established in early 2000, which raised over £35 million for investment into early stage technology and life science companies.

William left The Cambridge Gateway Fund in July 2005, to establish a portfolio of companies that enable high net worth individuals to invest in niche alternative asset classes in a tax efficient manner. William is managing partner of Managing Capital LLP, which provides management services to private companies. Clients have included six Breeding Capital companies, Racing Capital PLC and Dazzling Capital PLC, among others.

William’s role involves managing the affairs of the Company, including, but not limited to, executing the business plan, investor relations, corporate governance, and all legal, financial and regulatory matters.

Johnny Goedhuis

Wine Director

Johnny Goedhuis has been closely involved in the wine industry all his working life. Johnny started his career at Corney & Barrow, before setting up his own wine business in the mid 1970s, and joining Mark Birley in 1978.

Johnny established Goedhuis & Co, a specialist fine wine merchant and broker, which he has grown into a significant player in the wine business, turning over in excess of £20 million per annum, and employing over 20 people with offices in London and Hong Kong. Johnny is a former member of the Liv-ex Membership Committee, is wine adviser to the Grocer’s Company, and is a director and shareholder of Private Reserves, a wine storage business based in Northamptonshire. Johnny is responsible for the wine trading of Vintage Capital.

Simon Marsh

Non Executive Director

Simon Marsh is an entrepreneur with interests in bloodstock and publishing. Simon has a broad range of international bloodstock clients, and has been responsible for developing Watership Down Stud, owned by the Lloyd Webber family, into one of the most preeminent studs in the world, as well as managing the family’s racing interests, with the recent successes of Da Re Mi, The Fugue and Too Darn Hot illustrating his expertise in this sphere. Through his friendship with Lord Lloyd Webber, Simon has developed a significant interest in wine, and has been a consistent buyer of fine wine over the last twenty years.

Dawn Fisk

Logistics Manager

Dawn spent over twenty years working in the scientific consultancy industry before joining Managing Capital LLP in 2010.

Dawn has been involved with trading fine wines since 2013, and is well versed in and responsible for all logistical aspects of the business.

All of the directors have had significant business and personal dealings with each other over the last decade and beyond - it is a stress tested team.
